Gentle Bees tagetes beeswax candle melts/tarts are made with pure premium beeswax and pure tagetes essential oil.
Tagetes minuta, is native to the southern portion of South America, is a tall, upright marigold plant with small flowers used as a culinary herb in Peru, Ecuador, and parts of Chile and Bolivia, where it is called by the Incan term huacatay. The paste is used to make the popular potato dish called ocopa. Having both “green” and “yellow/orange” notes, the taste and odor of fresh T. minuta is like a mixture of sweet basil, tarragon, mint and citrus.
The health benefits of Tagetes Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an antibiotic, antimicrobial, anti-parasitic, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, disinfectant, insecticide, and sedative substance.
Tagetes is also known by a few other names, including Khaki Bush and Mexican Marie Gold. This herb is believed to be native to Africa. From there, it spread to America, Europe, and Australia. Its scientific name is Tagetes Minuta and it is highly valued as an insect repellant, anti-parasitic, and antiseptic in the locations listed above.
The Essential Oil of Tagetes is extracted from its leaves, stem, stalk, and flowers by the process of steam distillation. The main components of this oil are limonene, ocimene, tagetone, and valeric acid.
Despite having a nice fragrance, it is neither popular in aromatherapy nor as a deodorant. However, that does not affect its reputation as an anti-parasitic and antiseptic.
Pure beeswax is healthy and produces negative ions that actually clean your air of odors, pollens, smoke, dust, dust mites, viruses and other allergens and hazards – the only known fuel to do so. Beeswax candles leave your air fresher and cleaner. They are a true air purifier. Beeswax candles are the only candles for people with chemical sensitivities or allergies.
Increasing negative ions in the air and on the body, such as when one bathes in water, improves mood and sense of wellbeing. With this simple recipe, here are the following benefits:
- Melts in candle burner 3 times longer than soy wax
- Improved sleep
- Enhanced immune system
- Sense of well being
- Relief from hay fever & allergies
- Less severe asthma attacks
- Improved air quality
- Improved concentration
- Balancing of hormones
- Natural detoxification
